     Menomonie Police Department is looking for passionate and driven people to enhance our department. We hire the best and you will work alongside an exceptional team. As a department that responds to an average of 13,000 calls per year, we play an active role in keeping our community safe.     pay & Benefits

    • $28.50 - $40.90/hour depending on qualifications, incentive pay, residency, etc.
    • Wisconsin Retirement System (pension)
    • Standard law enforcement equipment and uniform provided 
    • Clothing allowance of $800/year after first year of service 
    • Paid vacation, sick, holidays, and personal days
    • Deferred compensation (457 plan) 
    • Modern personal appearance policy, allowing for tattoos and facial hair

    Lateral Transfers

     We welcome officers looking for a change. Lateral transfer officers may start at a higher pay step and vacation accrual rate than inexperienced officers. 

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma and 60 college credits or an Associate's degree
    • Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously
    • Ability to possess a firearm
    • Ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment
    • Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
    • Clear and concise speech
    • Driver's license
    • Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
    • Meet minimum standards for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Academy
    • Good driving record
    • Good physical condition
    • Good verbal and written communication skills
    • Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
    • No domestic abuse convictions
    • No felony convictions
    • U.S. citizen
    • Vision correctable to 20/20
